This book made me smile. I didn't really know what to expect. I had read books about Michael Jackson's career but nothing like this book that showed me a human side to a man we really know so little about and yet search to find information on. I will call it a refreshing look at Michael Jackson. As much as I wished he could have been mine, I find myself now wishing he could have been hers.
Michael was a real boy July 3, 2010 cassie71 (Atlanta, Georgia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I loved this book. This author gave insight into the real Michael Jackson. It is witty and charming and a bit naughty. It showed a side of Michael Jackson that is never spoken about, the human side. I love the personal recollections, the memoirs, the sincerity. Yes Michael Jackson is an icon, and has been since day one. But Michael was also at one time a pubescence teenager going through the same emotional ups and downs of maturing into a young man as any other teenager. In a word he was normal and it is shown throughout this wonderful biography. Thank you Ms. Gonsalves for allowing us a peek into the real world of the greatest entertainer who ever lived. I have come away with a new sense of appreciation for Ms. Billie Jean. She was the real deal and a wonderful human being. I highly recommend it to anyone who ever thought that Michael Jackson was a bit strange. Wasn't nothing strange about Michael Jackson, lol. What was strange is that so many people chose to believe the hype. Truly a great piece of work.
Inspiring Story! June 14, 2010 WaddyNY (Scottsdale, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I found this story to be very inspirational. I was amazed at how such a young girl stayed diligent to make this dream a reality. I miss Michael quite a bit and as we approach this one year anniversary, I find that this is one of the most pleasant books that I have been able to read about him. Thanks Theresa.
"A Charming look at Michael Jackson" June 2, 2010 Beauty Makeovers (Fountain Hills, AZ) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow..I did what someone suggested, I sat down with a glass of wine (or two) and read this book. As, I try to think of different words than what other reviewers say, I find myself having to say the same. This was a refreshing look at Michael Jackson, a human one. I loved their story together and I too wished in the end they would have found their way together. I thank you Ms. Gonsalves for actually writing letters to Michael at a young age. I think it gave him insight into a normal life. I love how she says that to her Michael was "Just Michael". I give this a five star review. It is unlike any other book out there that I have read about Michael Jackson. I miss him a lot. Memories like these shared in this book help to make it easier to be without him. It made me smile, laugh at their silliness and sad as well. I truly recommend this for anyone who cared about Michael Jackson. Again, Thanks Ms. Gonsalves
